Singers Wanted
Zürich · 5 September 2026 · focusTerra, ETH Zürich
Sing the Earth. One night only.
Join a flash-mob choir performing inside ETH Zürich’s geological museum during the city’s Long Night of Museums – rocks, fossils, and something to sing about.
Experienced choral singers welcome · all voices · 3 rehearsals only
ABOUT THE PROJECT
What happens when a choir appears among geological formations?
On the evening of 5 September, singers will emerge unexpectedly between visitors, between stone layers and ancient fossils, filling the museum with music that speaks of the planet itself.
Choir capriccio vocale, led by conductor Davide Fior, is teaming up with focusTerra — the earth sciences museum of ETH Zürich — to turn one of the city’s most unusual exhibition spaces into a living soundscape.
No concert hall, no rows of seats. Just music, geology, and people.
THE PROGRAMME
Earth Song · Frank Ticheli
A powerful choral plea for peace and healing for our planet. Its harmonies are made to reverberate in stone.
Renovare me · Will Todd
Driving rhythms and raw energy — a work that pulses with primal force, sitting in unexpected tension with the ancient geology around it.
Circle of Life · arr. André van der Merwe
The iconic Lion King theme in a full choral arrangement. A musical arc around the cycle of life — energetic, joyful, impossible not to feel.
